Newsweek recently released its list of “Top High Schools”. This year, Manual rose from 67 to 50!! Graduation rate, the percent of graduates accepted to college, the number of AP exams given to each student as well as average SAT , ACT and AP and the number of students enrolled in an AP or IB program were the criteria for making the list. This is a testament to the hard work of our entire community! Congratulations!

The annual DuPont Manual Slyder Cup golf scramble will be held on Sunday, May 19th at 2 p.m. at the Shawnee Golf Course. This will be the DuPont Manual Boys Golf Team’s sixth year of hosting the Slyder Cup. Each year they have had a great time while raising money for the golf team and The First Tee of Louisville. This event has donated over $1,000 to The First Tee each year of the scramble. The cost is $65 per player ($260 per four-some) and includes an 18 hole scramble, dinner and prizes. There is an early bird discounted price of $60 per player if your checks are received prior to May 10th. You can find a registration form at the golf team’s website,

http://www.dupontmanual.com/sports/boysgolf/ .

All checks should be made payable to DuPont Manual Golf Booster Club and sent to:

If you can’t join them, please consider buying some $10 raffle tickets for a round of golf at Valhalla (courtesy of Bingham, Greenebaum, Doll Law). You or your company could also sponsor a hole for $50.00. Once again, the gold team appreciates your support and hopes you will join them at Shawnee Golf Course on May 19th.

Please contact Laurie Oppenheimer at lsgopp@insightbb.com with any questions.

The date for the school physicals this year is Friday, May 10 from 2:45 – 4:30 pm (Football will have separate physicals on May 15). These physicals will be good for a calendar year, so the majority of next school year will be covered.

•No student will be given a physical unless their entire Physical, Addendum to the Physical, and Letter from UofL Family Medicine are filled out and submitted in advance. Those forms have been uploaded and can be found in the documents section of the website in the “required forms” folder.

•All physicals and addendum forms will be kept on file at Manual. No forms will be handed back to students at the conclusion of the physical.

•Below is the link to the spreadsheet listing the physical date of all of the current student-athletes. Physicals are good for one calendar year.

Last year’s physical date was May 11, so all of those physicals are good until May 11 of this year.
