Week of 4/16

Posted by Coach Clifford at Apr 15, 2012 3:11PM PDT

There are a couple changes to the calendar this week. Our games vs CAL had to be moved to Tuesday (Varsity at 5:30, JV at 7:30). We will practice at school on Monday. This week starts spring football so our practices will be moved to the side field until spring football is done.

Friday is the Junior ring dance. If you are going to the dance and feel like you cannot do practice and dance stuff, then you are excused from practice.

Saturday we are heading down to make up the Greenwood and Glasgow games. These games are both varsity only. This has been a rescheduling nightmare and this is really the only available option without putting something on derby weekend. We will take a charter bus from down and play Glasgow at 10am (CST) and Greenwood at 3:30pm (CST).

All changes have been put on the calendar.

5 Days of Running

Posted by Coach Clifford at Apr 9, 2012 9:08AM PDT

Day 1: 30sec on 30sec off 15yard flat shuttles. Alternate between all forward, forward and back peddle, and shuffles. Go for at least 15 minutes, 20 if you can push it.

Day 2: 10sec on 50sec off hill sprints. Start by running as hard as you can for 10 seconds. Drop a cone at your initial 10sec distance. Return to your starting point. Sprint to the cone and jog back to your starting point. Start a new one each minute. If you do not have a good hill, then do the workout on flat group but switch to 15sec on 45sec off. Go for at least 15 minutes, 20 if you can push it.

Day 3: 45minute non stop jog.

Day 4: Repeat day 1

Day 5: Repeat day 2

I also challenge all to take 10 minutes a day and complete 100 push ups, 100 squat jumps, and 100 mountain climbers a day. I like to alternate in sets of 25.

Last Stickhorse game of the Season

Posted by Coach Clifford at Apr 7, 2012 4:34AM PDT

Tonight at 7pm at Freedom Hall, the Stickhorses will rematch the Boston Rockhoppers. This is the last game of the season, so your last chance to see some pro lacrosse in town for awhile. They are doing a good amount of half off specials. All merchandise will be half off and I think tickets are buy one get one, or something like that.

I will be in the line up tonight and would love to see your support out there. I’ll try to keep my lid on this time.
